Azamara Cruises Ships

The near identical two ships in the Azamara Cruises fleet were originally planned to expand Celebrity Cruises Expeditions class. A few weeks before the inaugural voyages of the then Celebrity Journey and Celebrity Quest the decision was taken by Celebrity Cruises to form a new cruise line, Azamara Cruises. The ships were subsequently renamed Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest and are now part of Azamara’s Journey class.

Each ship weighs in at 30,277 tons and is 593 feet in length. They cruise at a speed of 18.5 knots per hours and have an occupancy level of 694. Azamara Journey first set sail on 05 May 2007, whilst Azamara Quest made her maiden voyage on 19 October 2007.

Azamara Journey is smaller than a lot of cruise ships and has an intimate feel about her. She boasts a butler service for every stateroom, the majority of which have verandas. There are also concierge amenities, two speciality restaurants, a spa and fitness centre, plus wonderfully relaxing bars and cafés. Daytime and evening activities include enrichment programs such as wine tasting and lectures and each night there is top quality live entertainment. Azamara Journey is perfect for those who like to cruise in style and luxury but in a less crowded environment. Azamara Journey has itineraries that take her to the Mediterranean, Southern Caribbean, Eastern Caribbean, Northern Europe and Western Europe. She also undertakes a transcanal cruise departing from Los Angeles, a transatlantic cruise departing Miami and a Panama Canal cruise.

Like her sister, Azamara Quest is a lot smaller and sleeker than most cruise ships. The amenities and entertainment on board are similar to that of Azamara Journey but the different itineraries mean that Azamara Quest will give you fabulous adventures in her own right. Azamara Quest predominately sails to the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia.
